Researchers have created a wearable brain-computer interface (BCI) that allows users to play video games just by using their minds.
A cap lined with brain wave detecting electrodes can be used by anyone without extensive calibration or the invasive surgical procedures required by other invasive BCIs such as Elon Musk’s Neuraink
Using machine learning models for calibration, the BCI device was successfully tested on 18 people with no experience using this kind of technology.
All of the tested subjects were healthy and had no motor impairments. If this technology is going to graduate to mainstream adoption, it will need to be proven on people with disabilities too.
